This paper critically examines the emerging role of public libraries in the context of the digital age and advocates for their proactive redefinition to meet the diverse needs of contemporary society. Drawing from a wide array of literature, it emphasizes the pivotal role of libraries in bridging the digital divide by providing free access to digital resources and fostering digital literacy among various communities.
