Furthermore, the paper explores the multifaceted functions of public libraries beyond their traditional role as book repositories, highlighting their significance as cultural hubs, guardians of indigenous knowledge, and inclusive community spaces. It envisions the future importance of public libraries as dynamic entities that seamlessly integrate physical and virtual information world, embracing emerging trends such as gaming integration, public Wi-Fi provision, and innovative media platforms. In essence, this paper calls for a paradigm shift in the perception and operation of public libraries, urging stakeholders to adapt to changing societal dynamics and embrace innovative approaches that empower libraries to remain relevant and impactful in the 21st century. |
